Fierorama was originally designed and still remains as an honor to
the daily driven Fiero. Our first intention was to see just how many
Fieros we could get in one place on one day.
The goal of Fierorama is not to award the most pristine, showroom
new, trailered Fieros. Rather, our goal is to reward the owners who
do not consider their Fiero a show car because they use it everyday and
find it difficult to keep it in showroom condition. Ideally, we
would like to reward the best-looking Fiero with the most amount of miles
on it.
The Fierorama classes are broken down by body style and more
importantly, mileage so that cars are competing in classes together that
have similar wear and tear.
As Fiero owners continue to enjoy driving their cars, each year we
adjust the class mileage descriptions to reflect continued usage.
The first Fierorama took place in 1996. Over seventy Fieros
participated. Our participation numbers continue to grow with each
year. Consider attending to find out why! Photos and video of
past Fierorama's can be found under the Past Shows section on the left hand
side of this page.
Keep Fieroing,
Jim Hallman, President

This year’s Fierorama will be our “Sweet 16” year! The Fierorama
show will be taking place on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the same
location as 2010 – our host hotel for the past several years, the
Holiday Inn Express located at 1600 East Main Street (also known as
Route 64 or North Avenue) in St. Charles, IL. Call 630-584-5300 to
make reservations. Remember to ask for the “Fierorama Special Rate” of
$79/night, which includes a free hot breakfast bar, newspaper, fitness
center, playground, and heated outdoor pool.
There are several car washes located minutes from the show
field for your convenience. Tyler Wash at 503 Tyler Road
(630-377-6286) is located one block south from the Holiday Inn and has
both manual and automatic touch-less facilities.
Join in for two days of fun with your
Fiero friends from around the country. St. Charles and its neighboring
city, Geneva, both offer a variety of antique shopping, skate parks,
and delicious dinning experiences. We kick off the weekend at 11:00am
for a group lunch on Saturday, September 10, 2011 by meeting at the
Holiday Inn Express in St. Charles (our host hotel). We will caravan
over as a group to lunch, which will be at the Portillo’s restaurant
located at 1500 Butterfield in Downers Grove, IL (east on Butterfield
at I-355). We plan to arrive at Portillo’s around 12:00 noon. From
there, we will travel as a group to the Antique Auto Club of America’s
Central Fall Meet taking place in Oak Brook, IL.
Here we will visit with NIFE club members Fred Bartemeyer and Ed York
who will be displaying their Fieros in this show. Fred will be
bringing his ultra low mileage Fiero Indy Pace Car and Ed will be
bringing his blue PPG Pace Car. We will have plenty of time to see a
truly overwhelming selection of some very rare, unique vehicles from
the automotive history books. After our visit, we will head back to
our host hotel in St. Charles. At 6:00pm our traditional Fierorama
pizza party will take place at Gino’s East across the street from the
host hotel.
On Sunday, September 11, 2001 you can plan on arriving
anytime after 9:00am to enjoy a full day celebrating the Fiero at our
Fierorama show. The car show hours are from 12 noon until 5:00pm in
our host hotel’s (Holiday Inn Express) parking lot. Please
pre-register for this event; it is so much easier for all involved to
plan activities if we have a good idea of attendance in advance. There
is a registration form located on our website which is at
fierofocus.com.
All NIFE members and spectators can
participate for FREE. Other non-NIFE members choosing to enter their
car in the show are welcome with a registration fee of $10. Or for
$25, become a NIFE member and receive our award winning Fiero Focus
magazine for the balance of 2011 and all of 2012 and attend Fierorama
for FREE. Feel free to participate in our Park 4 Fun class if you will
not be able to stay with us the entire day. Displaying your Fiero in
this class allows you the flexibility to come and go as you please.
You do not need to enter your car in the show to participate! All are
welcome.
Directions: St. Charles is located in the Fox Valley area
about 35 miles west of Chicago. It is easily accessible via several
local roadways including Route 64 (North Avenue), Route 25, or Route
31, all with easy connections from I-88, and I-90. Please see the map
located on our website. Look for the Fierorama signs!
This is one of the best and largest Fiero shows of the year
and always a fun and exciting time. We look forward to seeing you and
having you join us for some great times and good fun in St. Charles!
See you there!
Thanks to our generous Fierorama Key Sponsors for 2011: The
Fiero Store, V8 Archie and Village Buick/Pontiac/GMC in Naperville.
Because of their significant contributions, we can keep Fierorama a
free event for our club members.
